Dave Walton
Chief Executive Officer
T1D Exchange
Mr. Walton has led T1D Exchange as its Chief Executive Officer since 2019 after initially joining its Board of Directors in 2018. He has overseen dramatic growth in its Quality Improvement Collaborative of US endocrinology centers, various high-quality RWE data assets, including EMR data and online Registry of people living with T1D, research collaborations with industry and nonprofit partners, and recruitment of individuals with diabetes into dozens of 3rd party research studies. He has also helped secure over $30 million in grant funding for T1D Exchange.
Mr. Walton brings 30 years of healthcare experience in life sciences and medical device industries and management consulting, with over 15 years of commercial leadership at multiple companies in the diabetes industry, including Johnson & Johnson. His vast experience includes the commercial launch of more than 10 insulin pumps, BGM & CGM devices, diabetes smartphone apps, and web-based remote monitoring software solutions in the US and Europe.
More recently, he has served as an advisor to Diatech Diabetes and T1D Scout, and as a Board Member of Alertgy, a noninvasive CGM system in development. Mr. Walton holds an MBA in Healthcare Management from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a BA in Psychology from Princeton University. He has lived with T1D for 29 years, bringing personal as well as professional insight to his work.
